The Oakland Raiders are a team with a long history of both success and failures. The Oakland Raiders are a member of the Western Division of the American Football Conference and first started play in 1960. The team later joined the NFL in the 1970 merger. As an old member of the AFL, the Raiders won one league championship and appeared in Super Bowl II.
